How to Change Formation in FC 26 Ultimate Team

In this guide, I show you how to change formation in FC 26 Ultimate Team. This covers a single change and also how to set up and switch in game.

Changing Formation

To change formation in FC 26 Ultimate Team, you need to access squad view and then the menu on the left hand side. There you can adjust formation and tactics. To set up multiple formations, you do that in tactics. See the video how to set things up.

Checking Player Position Compatibility

Players have a preferred position, so you want to try and ensure any formation you pick makes good use of the players you own. If you hit R3 (right stick button) when highlighting over a player, you can check main position and alternative positions. Keeping a player in position they can play means they can earn boosts from player chemistry.

Setting Up Multiple Formations

You can set up and select a variety of formations in tactics. You can access this by pressing L3 (left stick button) in the squad view and then selecting tactics. In there you can copy tactics and then adjust their name and funny enough, the tactics. This includes formation.

Changing Formation in a Match

Once you’ve set up multiple formations, you can select them in a match by presseing R on the D Pad and then hitting the button next to the formation you want to use. Just bear in mind that if you’ve picked a formation with completely different player positions that your team may struggle to adapt to it.
